Nature's Magic Ingredient Olives

Mediterranean countries are famous for their love of olive oil. Not only is it a culinary staple, it’s also their secret to beautiful skin and hair. We look at why these small fruits, are one of Mother Nature’s most impressive ingredients.

SKIN CARE AND OLIVES
Olives, in oil format, have long been used to promote skin health. Applied as a natural moisturiser, it penetrates deep into the skin to provide a long-lasting shield. We’re not necessarily suggesting you douse yourself in olive oil, but olive infused products are ideal for repairing sun damaged or dehydrated skin.

Olives are also a key ingredient in many anti-ageing products as they’re jam-packed with antioxidants, Vitamin A and E, which will prevent free-radical damage to the skin.

HAIR CARE AND OLIVES
Olive oil has been used for centuries as a natural hair conditioner (thank you Cleopatra!). Loaded with antioxidants, olive-based hair care is good for treating dandruff and maintaining a healthy scalp. And, because its primary chemical elements are emollients, olive oil will soften hair and add shine. There’s no end of shampoos and conditioners available, but if you want a D.I.Y treatment, you can warm olive oil at home, apply to dry hair and then wrap in a towel for thirty minutes. Wash through several times for ultra-glossy hair.
