The Low Bun

Invitation season – summer and winter alike, is an opportune chance to try out an elegant up-do. Here’s how to perfect the timeless low-bun with a twist.

1

PART YOUR HAIR

Start by parting your hair and curling it with tongs. This will give your bun texture and body.

2

TEASE & BRUSH

Gently tease your hair at your crown, using hairspray for hold. Now, smooth over flyaways with a brush and pull back into a relaxed ponytail at the nape of your neck.

3

PULL & TWIST

Divide your ponytail into two sections between the hairband and the back of your head – you should have a gap between them. Then flip your ponytail through the gap, so that the side sections twist. Give the ponytail a gentle tug to tighten it and then repeat several times.

4

FINISH

Use a comb to tease the remaining ponytail adding hairspray for hold. Finally fold the ponytail back on itself, gathering into a low bun. Secure with hairpins and a generous spritz of hairspray.
